Note to authors

Assessment procedure

Full proposals for papers should be posted in electronic form on the conference website www.riodd2012.com before 12 March 2012.

The first page, which will not be passed on to the assessors, will show the title of the paper, the name(s) of the author(s) and their affiliation,  and the postal address, email address and telephone number of the author to whom correspondence should be sent. The second page should begin with the title of the paper, a summary of approximately 500 words setting out the paper’s argument, methodology and key results, along with a maximum of 5 keys.

Papers will be submitted for assessment by two members of the science committee, using a “double blind” procedure. The authors will be informed of the committee’s decisions (acceptance, acceptance subject to major modifications, acceptance subject to minor modifications, rejection) before 6 April 2012. The final texts of the papers must be posted in electronic format on the conference website www.riodd2012.com before 4 May 2012. If the article has to be revised, the authors are asked to indicate what changes they have made on a separate page.

 

Paper format

Proposed papers must keep to the following format:

-       A4 size

-       Top, bottom and side margins 2.5cm

-       Font: Times New Roman (size 12), line spacing 1.5 and justified

-       The title hierarchy must not exceed 3 levels:

-       Level 1: a figure (e.g. 1.), title in Times 12 bold and capitals

-       Level 2: two figures (e.g. 1.1.), sub-titles in Times 12 bold and small capitals

-       Level 3: three figures (e.g. 1.1.1.), sub-titles in Times 12 bold
